BIOGRAPHY

Coop Durant (Barry Cooper-Durant). Between raising a family of two boys & building homes, Coops other interests have included playing semi-professiocal soccer in Sydney's first division & racing an HK Holden called "The Taxi" in rallycross and off-road rallying.

He took an early interest in country music, writing his first song "You're The Only Girl For Me" (at the age of twelve). "Lifes personal experiences have given me the inspiration for my song writing" he said.

After his father passed away last October, "Coop" as he now prefers, decided to use his families full surname after his great grandfather Ben Durant and great grandmother Berrtina Cooper thus Coop-Durant.

Coop has been performing publicly for Country Music Clubs in Kempsey and surrounding districts, winning the senior male vocal trophy at the last two Kempsey Country Music Festivals, in 1999 performing his own compositon, "Feelin' Free" (Being Me).

Thank you - From Coop

Thanks to my dad for instilling in me the strength to achieve anything I set out to to do. His words to me "There is no such word as can't!" Thanks to my family for their support and a special thanks to my Mum ( who tried to teach me to play the piano ) , who drafted my first song on sheet music - and I know Mum, you will enjoy the keyboard touch from the hand of Russell Dick.

Thanks to Jenny and John Marks. who I met while taking singing lessons. This lead me to contributing to the construction of their studio, Blue Lotus Productions, and ultimately to recording my songs for this album.

Blue Lotus Productions studio is on acreage at Euroka, just out of Kempsey and the atmosphere is relaxing. Working out arrangements for the backing track with John, Peter and Allan while having a coffee on an open verandah overlooking the country was inspiration itself. I am deeply indebted to Jenny and John for their support, help and guidance in the creation of this album.

Playing music, jamming around camp fires at BBQ's, hotels, clubs and busking in the street has introduced me to so many friends and taught me so much.

Thanks to all those that have encouraged me along the way, I only hope I have been a much help to you as you have been to me.It has really been a very memorable experience working with some of the best musicians in the country, all Iocals on the Maceay.

I thank you for your inspiration, feeling and input. I thank "Fler" for giving me the pleasure of sharing once again, hence the song "For Me" and "With Me".

Thanks again to everyone involved in the creation of this album and you for showing an interst in my CD. I hope you enjoy listening to the songs as much as I have enjoyed performing them for you.
